Looking for collodial minerals side effects? Colloidal silver is actually a mineral. Colloidal minerals are commercially available produced from mining ancient sea beds, and then mixing the mined minerals with water or other fluid to hold them in solution. A colloid is a substance that dispersed on the microscopic scale throughout another substance.  Colloidal substances have many different applications ranging from pharmaceuticals to Raman spectral enhancement materials.  However, there’s no actually credible scientific evidence that may help support marketing claims for superior absorption or bioavailability. They may even contain relatively high levels of unwanted minerals, such as aluminum, lead, mercury or other contaminants.

You can from some promoters who claim that silver has known no function in the body and it is not an essential mineral supplement, colloidal silver products are still available in a few over-the-counter stores.  However, in 1997, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ruled that colloidal silver drug products were not considered safe or effective. Colloidal silver products marketed for medical purposes or promoted for unproven uses are now considered “misbranded” under the law. In fact, there is no credible scientific evidence that can support marketing claims for superior absorption or bioavailability. They may even contain relatively high levels of unwanted minerals, such as aluminum, lead, mercury or other contaminants.

There some studies claim that colloidal mineral is not an essential mineral. The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine has report that the mineral has no function in the body, nor is it recognized as safe or effective. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and Federal Trade Commission have issued warning letters to most websites with marketing terms that include claims that the product is able to cure, treat or prevent any disease or illness.

There are reports that colloidal minerals are hyped as being 95% absorbable. However, there is no documented evidence to support this claim. There is also a claim that colloidal minerals are "negatively charged, hence increase intestinal tract absorption." The wall of the lumen of the small intestine, where many minerals are absorbed, when at a neutral pH of 7, is negatively charged. Since similar charges oppose each other, the intestinal walls would repel negatively charged colloidal minerals, hampering the absorption rate. The mineral content in colloidal minerals depends on the mineral content of the original shale it is made from. This can cause the concentration of the minerals to be very random. Minerals and trace elements are interdependent, that means they work best when the ratio of minerals and trace minerals are balanced. With colloidal minerals the ratios are random and therefore not optimized. Additionally, colloidal minerals are often high in aluminum content. Aluminum is considered a "toxic" element.

There are reports prove that colloidal silver has effects of deficiency like:
•    Gray hair can becaused by a copper deficiency
•    Cardiomyopathy is the result of a selenium deficiency (although there can be other causes)
•    One of the causes of male baldness is a tin deficiency
•    Diabetes and hypoglycemia can be due to vanadium and chromium deficiencies
•    Periodontal disease can be the result of a calcium deficiency

There are animal studies that can prove the side effects of silver. They’ve shown that silver builds up in the tissues of the body that may cause negative effects in animals and humans. In humans, the buildup of silver from colloidal silver can lead to a side effect called argyria, which are the main causes a bluish-gray discoloration of the skin, other organs, deep tissues, nails, and gums. Sadly, argyria side effect is permanent and cannot be treated or reversed. Other known side effects from using colloidal silver products may include neurologic problems (such as seizures), kidney damage, stomach distress, headaches, fatigue, and skin irritation.
